Fulbright Program for U.S. Students

The Fulbright Program is the largest U.S. international exchange program offering opportunities for students, scholars and professionals to undertake international graduate study, advanced research, and teaching worldwide.

  • April 2017. The online application becomes available. 
  • August 20, 2017. Fulbright workshop (information at right)
  • August 27, 2017 by 11:30pm, a completed application should be submitted electronically. This deadline is firm - no exceptions. 
  • September 11-15, 2017: Interview Week: After the interviews, Dr. Jay Hughes will release the application back to the students for revisions.
  • September 28, 2017 by 11:30pm, applicants should submit their revised application electronically.
  • February 2018: IIE expects to inform applicants of first round results .

The application process is complicated. Follow the guidelines and instructions included in the Fulbright Informational Memo (at right).

Fulbright Workshop - 2017

Get early feedback on your proposal and personal statement and learn about other particularities of Fulbright.

  • July 31: Registration deadline. Click here to register.
  • August 7: Deadline to submit materials to Jay Hughes by 11:30pm.
    • Email a copy of your proposal (grant narrative) and personal statement.
  • August 20: Attend the workshop. 9-5pm, 423 South Calloway. Lunch will be provided.
