Dear LGS Community,
The start of the spring 2021 term brings new beginnings amid continuing challenges. In the face of such circumstances and in the wake of January 6, I find hope in the tenacity and strength of our nation, in the inauguration of President Biden and the historic inauguration of Vice President Harris, and in the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccines created in record time due to years of diligent basic science research and a new focus on distribution.
In this new chapter in history, the graduate project – our work in graduate education -- has even greater significance. Our LGS community has the opportunity to serve as a model for what we desire to see across our nation – a strong, inclusive community with the capacity to work productively and collaboratively with respect, compassion, and empathy. In unity, we are purposeful, innovative, and mindful.
I am proud of all that we have accomplished during the past year and all that we will continue to do, together. As always, LGS staff are committed and available to you. Please reach out to us when questions or needs arise. Please stay engaged and connect with us via the LGS website, our Laney Grad Report newsletter, or you may contact us directly.
Have a successful and productive spring term and most importantly, stay safe and stay healthy.
Warmest regards,
-Lisa
