Flourishing at Laney: Start Your Journey
Flourishing at Laney officially launched last week, inviting students to make the most of graduate school—intentionally and visibly.
Throughout the year, you’ll encounter experiences connected to our three pillars: purpose and well-being, academic pathways to success, and community and belonging. As you participate, you’ll earn stamps or badges that recognize your engagement and progress.
To earn a stamp, simply attend eligible Laney experiences. Whether it’s a wellness workshop, a professional development session, or a community event, you choose what aligns with your goals. Your growth matters—and it deserves to be seen and celebrated.
Flourishing isn’t about reaching a final destination. It’s about building meaningful experiences along the way—like collecting stamps in a passport. As you engage, you’ll also gain language to translate those experiences into your CV or résumé.
You can find eligible events through the new Emory Student Hub. All Laney students are enrolled in the Laney Graduate School group, where experiences are tagged by stamp category.
Step one? Begin.
If you have questions, email Jennifer M. Cason, EdD, assistant dean of student affairs and deputy Title IX coordinator.

The Hamann Cognitive Neuroscience Lab Paid
The Hamann Cognitive Neuroscience Lab is recruiting paid volunteers for a memory study that uses video scenarios.
Its lab utilizes a newly developed memory task designed to better reflect everyday experiences. Subtle memory differences aren't always detected by traditional tests, and they aim to measure memory in a way that is more sensitive to its use in real life.
Participants will watch professionally produced videos featuring real actors and complete tasks based on what they saw. We believe it will be an enjoyable experience.
Duration: 90-minute in-person session and a 60-minute online session one week later Location: Emory's Psychology Building Compensation: $20/hour
