Fei Feng is a professor at the Law School of Nanjing Normal University, mainly engaged in the research of legal theory and Interdisciplinary study of law. He is also a researcher at the Institute for Chinese Legal Modernization Studies, and an editor of the journal Law and Modernization. As one of the earliest scholars who systematically studied legal incentive in contemporary China, he wrote a monograph entitled Research on the Incentive Function of the Legal System, and a series of papers on legal incentive. In China, he put forward some original viewpoints, such as the concept of legal incentive, the ideal form of legal incentive, the model of legal incentive, the theory of legal incentive mechanism design, and so on.

His recent research projects primarily concentrate on the legal mechanisms that facilitate the advancement of productive forces. He endeavors to investigate the fundamental legal principles that enhance productivity and synthesizes global experiences and institutional achievements in promoting productive forces through legal frameworks. Throughout this process, he will incorporate insights from vulnerability theory to explore propositions for good law and effective governance.
