Xia Wang is an associate professor, engaged in the research and teaching of legal theory, rights theory and data protection law. Her research efforts primarily concentrate on rights theory and the protection of data rights. She has done research on the psychological foundation of rights, dissected the general trajectory of legal rights formation, and put forward some viewpoints such as the psychological atlas of rights, the essential system of honor system, and a psychological analysis approach of rights.
Her recent project tackles the protection of personal data rights. Acknowledging the prevalent issue and dilemma of personal data misuse by individuals or corporations in the digital and information-driven society, she advocates for individuals' right to control the utilization of their personal data, thereby safeguarding their privacy and enabling a serene, undisturbed existence. Recognizing individuals' vulnerability to network technology, she posits that it is the state's responsibility and obligation to enact laws and regulations aimed at protecting individuals' data rights.
