Grad Student Appreciation Week is a nationwide celebration that highlights the invaluable impact of graduate students on our university community and beyond. Their hard work, innovative research, and commitment to advancing knowledge deserve our appreciation and applause.

We have an exciting lineup of events and activities planned to honor our graduate students, offering opportunities to connect, unwind, and be celebrated for all that they do. SciENcv Workshop Series

The Research Compliance and Regulatory Affairs (RCRA) in partnership with Emory University Libraries will host a SciENcv Workshop Series.

SciENcv (Science Experts Network Curriculum Vitae) is an application in My NCBI that helps you create and manage documents in support of grant applications with participating agencies.

Join us to learn key information about creating your SciENcv account and simplifying your grant preparation process in compliance with federal regulations.

Emory Libraries is Recruiting for In-Person Focus Group Session

Are you interested in participating in a focus group? Emory Libraries is hosting a one-hour focus group session for undergrad and grad students to talk about how it can improve workshop programming. Food and light refreshments will be provided.

When: Friday, March 21

Time: 1 - 2 p.m.

Where: Woodruff Library, room 312

The Reducetarian Fellowship

Are you looking to create a more sustainable, healthy and compassionate world? The Reducetarian Fellowship is a one-year experience designed to foster a more diverse, sustainable, and impactful movement by empowering young advocates and innovators to transform our food system.

Nat C. Robertson Graduate Fellowship in Science and Society

The Nat C. Robertson Endowment in Science and Society in collaboration with the Institute for the Liberal Arts (ILA), offers a year-long graduate student fellowship open to current LGS PhD students in any discipline.

Why should you apply? The fellow will:

work with ILA faculty to facilitate a pre-existing course in the fall,
develop a new course, team-teach an existing course with an ILA faculty member, or propose a semester-long project with undergraduates that builds on the fellow’s research interests and integrates multiple disciplines (in the spring).

Award: $12,000 for one academic year

ELSP Workshop on AI-Aided Communication with Hannah Nicol

Do you have an interest in exploring generative AI and how it can be used to enhance communication, writing, and language skills development? If so, the AI-Aided Communication workshop led by Hannah Nicol, applied linguist and international training specialist, is for you.

What will participants learn?

Best practices for using chatbots as a virtual conversation partner, brainstorming collaborator, or writing assistant.
How to emphasize critical evaluation of AI outputs and mindful integration into communication and writing processes.
How to develop actionable strategies to use AI tools effectively in their academic and professional endeavors.

Light lunch/refreshments will be provided.

ELSP Workshops Series Presents: Interviewing Skills (The STAR Technique & More)

Interested in Strengthening Interview Skills?

The English Language Support Program (ELSP) is looking for participants for an upcoming two-part interview skills workshop designed to help students articulate their academic experiences clearly and effectively. Whether preparing for a job interview or another professional opportunity, this series will provide valuable strategies for success.

Workshop Overview:

Part 1:

Learn the STAR Technique and how to apply it to common interview questions.
Develop responses that highlight achievements, experiences, and skills.

Part 2:

Receive personalized feedback from English Language Specialists and peers.
Participate in mock interviews to refine responses.
Practice using voice and body language to convey confidence and engagement.

📅 When: Two 90-minute sessions over two weeks in early April
