Laney Graduate School Student Claims 2025 Women's Decathlon World Championship Title 

 

Laney Graduate School neuroscience PhD student and track and field athlete Nikki Boon recently earned the "World's Greatest Athlete" title and the 2025 Women's Decathlon World Championship Title in Geneva, Ohio.  
 
Boon competed in a two-day event at the SPIRE Academy in Ohio against 18 other athletes spanning from five different countries. She held down second place following the first five events and moved into first following a standout performance in the discus and pole vault. She scored 7,451 points to set a national record for the Netherlands and places her No. 10 on the all-time world list.

The James T. Laney School of Graduate Studies (LGS) at Emory University seeks applications for the LGS- EDGE (Emory Diversifying Graduate Education) Fellowship and Ambassadorship Program for the 2025-2026 academic year. This program is open to all students (master’s and doctoral) currently enrolled in Laney Graduate School during the period from September 1, 2025, through August 31, 2026.

Duration: September 1, 2025, through August 31, 2026 

Compensation: top-off award of $6,000 over the 12-month appointment

New! Purposeful Teaching Faculty Fellowship Application Now Open 

 

In this collaboration between the Emory Purpose Project and the Center for Faculty Development (CFDE) and Excellence, full-time faculty are encouraged to apply to the Purposeful Teaching Fellowship. This is an opportunity for faculty to consider what it means for students to flourish in a course and develop concrete strategies to promote this.  

 

Applications for fall and spring semesters are open.

Compensation: You will receive a $2,000 stipend deposited into your research/discretionary account for participation in the program, distributed upon the completion of specific milestones throughout the fellowship.

Emory Global Engagement seeks a graduate assistant (GA) for the 2025-2026 academic year to support the office’s strategic aims and data management needs. The GA will primarily update and re-imagine the Emory Global Engagement dashboard.

Honor Council Graduate Assistant 

 

The Office for Undergraduate Education seeks a graduate student assistant for the Emory College Honor Council. The Honor Council adjudicates all cases of student academic misconduct in Emory College. The graduate assistant will support the Honor Council in preparing case files, drafting summaries of cases, grading educational programs assigned as a sanction, developing content for the website and other educational materials, and preparing data for the annual report. 

   

This role requires an understanding of confidentiality, FERPA, and data privacy. It will include additional training to ensure this competency is met. 

 

Work schedule: 15-20 hr/wk on-site in Candler Library 107 

Compensation: $18/hr
