Office Hours with the Dean
Dean Kimberly Jacob Arriola invites graduate students to join her for an informal conversation during Office Hours with the Dean. This is a chance to share your experiences, ask questions, and connect directly with Dean Arriola in a welcoming and open setting. The Hatchery Presents Skill Builder Workshop: Beyond Minimal Viable Product with Arthur Simoneto
Do you want to build a startup business that people cannot ignore? New Series Helps Grad Students Build Skills
This fall, Laney Graduate School is launching its inaugural Skills Training Lunch and Learn series, designed to equip students with practical skills that support academic success, research excellence, and professional growth.
The first session focused on high-performance computing (HPC), offers an introduction to parallel computing, HPC clusters, job scheduling, and remote development workflows — no prior experience needed.
Stay tuned for additional workshops on harnessing the power of AI tools, building your personal academic website, and other learning opportunities that expand your toolkit and help you flourish on your graduate journey.

Write for Bare Bones STEM website
Interested in science communication? Writing for Bare Bones STEM is a great opportunity to gain experience writing in the sciences for a non-specialist audience and develop your communication skills.
Founded by the Association for Women in Science (AWIS), Bare Bones STEM invites submissions of 500-word stories. Entries may spotlight research conducted at Emory, celebrate the achievements of a successful woman in STEM at Emory, or explore a STEM-related topic of your choice.
Articles will be published online at the end of the 2025 fall Semester. Check out our website to read stories from the previous semesters.
