Partners

The network of MDP partners spans multiple sectors, scales, and types of organizations. They include humanitarian NGOs, faith-based organizations, international research centers, government agencies, and grassroots movements. MDP students engage with partner organizations in two ways.

During two summers, MDP students conduct field practicums with organizations in the Global South or in the United States. Through these experiences, students gain exposure to the complexities of development practice in real-life settings, while also strengthening their programmatic skills and professional networks.

During the academic year, while at Emory, most MDP students engage in optional (paid and unpaid) internships with partner organizations that are based in the Atlanta area or that allow for virtual work. In some cases, these internships evolve into enriching summer field practicum experiences.

New partnerships are continuously being developed to optimally align field practicum opportunities with students' interests and learning objectives. Below are some of the organizations that MD students have worked with in recent years.
