2025 LGS Diploma Ceremony

  • Date: Friday, May 9
  • Location: Woodruff Physical Education Center (WoodPec)
  • Time: 2 p.m.
  • Graduates must register to attend. There are no limits on the number of guests and they will not need tickets. See below under "Register to Attend."
  • The ceremony will be live streamed
  • The ceremony is for all Laney Graduate School graduates who received their degrees in Summer 2024 or Fall 2024, or who will receive it in Spring 2025

Reception

  • Friday, May 9, following the ceremony on McDonough Field, next to the WoodPEC.

The ceremony

  • The ceremony will recognize all Masters and Doctoral graduates.
  • Dean Arriola will deliver remarks, present awards, and recognize the graduates.
  • All graduates will have their name called and be recognized individually.
  • Doctoral graduates will be hooded by their advisor.

Diplomas

  • Diploma covers for all graduates will be provided at the ceremony.
  • The diplomas of spring 2025 graduates will be mailed by the Registrar's office to your diploma mailing address in OPUS. To learn more, visit the Registrar's Diploma Page. Note that all LGS graduates' diplomas will be delivered through the method listed as "Summer and Fall Graduates" delivery information.

Regalia

Dates still subject to confirmation and/or change.

  • Graduates who attend are expected to wear appropriate regalia.
  • Information about ordering regalia will be provided at https://oakhallcg.com/pages/emory.
    • Find more information about Regalia on the Student Instructions page of the Emory commencement site. Please note a few items:
      • The Bookstore will have a Grad Fair on Friday, February 21, 2025 from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m., for graduates to look at and order regalia in-person.
        • Where: 2nd Floor of the Bookstore (1390 Oxford Road, Atlanta, GA 30322)
      • Purchased regalia must be ordered no later than Sunday, March 2, 2025, or it will not arrive in time for Commencement.
      • Rental regalia can be ordered until Friday, March 14, 2025.  
  • Doctoral Hoods: LGS provides a hood for each doctoral graduate. It will be provided at the ceremony.

Register to Attend

LGS Diploma Ceremony Registration Form

  • Register by April 1.
  • Use our form to tell us that you plan to attend, and to let us know how many guests you plan to bring.
  • We need to know who will attend so we can plan the procession and other elements of the ceremony. There is no limit to the number of guests you can bring and you and your guests do not need tickets.
  • If you are a doctoral graduate, the form asks who will hood you at the ceremony.  Be sure to discuss this with your hooder before you submit the registration form.
