The Laney Graduate School is pleased to offer LGS graduate students access to Beyond the Professoriate’s professional development training platform Aurora. The platform offers recorded workshops in preparing for a range of career paths, panels and interviews with PhDs working in a variety of positions, and an interactive workbook to help guide you through the career exploration and application process.

Academic Career Success Conference, by Beyond the Professoriate

Laney Graduate School students are invited to attend the Academic Career Success Conference from Beyond the Professoriate. As a Laney student, the cost of your registration at this career conference is covered, but you must use your Emory University email address when registering.

The conference takes place on September 25 and October 2 and will cover topics such as:

  • Advancing your career, despite Covid-19
  • Learning effective presentation, writing, and time management skills to help you successfully navigate grad school
  • Building leadership and mentorship skills that will help you in any career path
  • Developing a metric for deciding on postdoc options and next steps after graduate school.

You may attend live, or you may watch a recording of the conference after-the-fact as part of Emory’s upcoming subscription to the professional development training platform, Aurora
